A soft answer turns away wrath BUT a harsh word stirs up anger Day 8

March 16, 2018 by kareenkarol Leave a Comment

Everyday has its ups and downs and everyday looks very different and yet similar at the same time. My days consist of being a mom first and all that goes along with it.

Sometimes it can feel like a lot, however if I put it into perspective it is only a short time in my life and there will be many days after my children are out on there own and I am not doing the day to day mom life.

One major part of my day is the words that I use to lift up and sometimes tear down my children, as well helping them learn how to use their words wisely to help them in the future. As I read Proverbs 15 so many of the Proverbs pertaining to the TONGUE really stood out to me.

A soft answer turns away wrath BUT a harsh word stirs up anger.

WOW I need this one written on my wipe off board and as well on my phone for a constant reminder.  So words of wisdom for keeping the peace and for a peaceful surrounding.  It is so much easier to solve problems when we are calm and reasonable…. No anger 🙂

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly BUT the mouth of fools pour forth foolishness.

Knowledge is something that I seek everyday and there are all kinds of knowledge out there, I am seeking wisdom to know what knowledge is truth and what things I can let go out of my brain.

Wisdom = knowledge that I am seeking through this daily study through the book of Proverbs… what about you?

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life BUT perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

A tree of life that grows and flourishes, as I would like my life to be.  Being wholesome is rare in this day and age but you and I do not have to be like anyone else and we can be wholesome even in this day and age.  Remember Noah he was the only wholesome person that God could find in the whole world… Live how you desire in your heart to live.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge BUT the heart of the fool does not do so.

Back to our hearts again and how our lives stem out of what is in our hearts.  Keep renewing good and life into your heart.  What you put in will come out….

A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance BUT by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

More on our hearts and the life that comes from them.  I speak more on the heart in this post from  March 12

Better is a little with the fear of the Lord. Than great treasure with trouble.

Yes I like this Proverb just how it is, it rings true for me and I agree.  A little fear of the Lord is better that  great wealth and treasures of stuff and lots of trouble.  No thank you to trouble.:)

So much wisdom just waiting for us to find, read and put into our hearts.  I encourage you today to bless your heart and mind and soul with wisdom.

Daily Inspiration Mar 10, 2018

March 10, 2018 by kareenkarol Leave a Comment

Everyday has so much potential for you to be inspired and learn as well there is potential for you to inspire others.

No matter what YOU make a difference in this world. I believe that with my whole heart.

Today as the 3 rd day in my 30 day study of Proverbs and the wisdom in the book of Proverbs.

It is and honour to share my thoughts with you and the  individual Proverbs that stand out to me.

Today was a very busy day with a volleyball tournament for my daughter and I know that what is going on in my life makes a difference as to what Proverbs stand out to me and which ones will stand out the next time I read Proverbs 10 . My favourite for today are

A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother

Read that twice… amazing just by being wise, seeking wisdom and paying attention to how to be wise is what makes a Father glad.  I take this as a son or daughter who is wise that makes a parent glad.  So important to honour our parents.

He who has a slack hand becomes poor  But the hand of the diligent makes rich

Be consistent, diligent in all that you do and you will be successful.  Don’t let the negative thoughts that are floating around your head distract you from the God Given greatness of who you are.  Don’t be lazy BUT take action and become rich in every area of your life.

Wise people store up knowledge But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction

Once again we see and hear how our mouths can cause destruction… WOW…. lets be sure to be one of the wise ones and Renew ourselves daily with wisdom and good instruction.  What is in our heart is what comes out of our mouths. SEEK WISDOM and Live out the truth…. I believe in you

See you here tomorrow for some more wisdom in Proverbs 11

Blessings

Day 2 Of 30 Days of Proverbs

How to Gain Wisdom and Knowledge daily….

Read the Proverb’s chapter for the day of the month

Today is March 9 ….read chapter 9

Esch and everyday of my life I am presented with challenges and questions that I do not have answers for.  Life can be complicated for just me, however having 4 kids adds even more to the day.  I don’t know if you are single or have kids asking you questions or if you are beyond that, what ever your situation I think we can agree that there are a lot of unknown’s in the day.

Ask I go through the book of Proverbs in the next 30 days I am seeking daily wisdom.  I am also excited to find out answers along the journey.

These verses stuck out to me today

As for him who lacks understanding she (wisdom) says to him

Come and eat of my bread

And drink of the wine I have mixed

Forsake foolishness and live

And go in the way of understanding

Rebuke a wiseman and he will love you

Give instruction to a wiseman, and he will be still wiser

Wow such good words for those whom are seeking.  The Wise are thankful and able to learn as they are willing to admit that they need to learn and grow daily. We are to forsake foolishness … another words get rid of foolishness and gain wisdom. those that are willing to lay down their ego will grow in their wisdom.

Today My daughter and I had the opportunity to go and seek out some new opportunities for her future schooling and sports.  For us to not look at different options would be foolish.  Being put in a situation where we are outside of our comfort zone and not looking at the fear that could be associated with change I am able to help her think through and see all of the positives despite the negatives.

Being wise is something that is in you when you spend time studying wisdom, and also by talking to those around you that have wisdom.  Proverbs is the best place that I can find wisdom from the Great King Solomon, he is known as the wisest king ever.  The more I seek wisdom and the more I put it in my heart it will grow.

Looking forward to March 10 and the wisdom in that day.  Come along with me and lets gain wisdom and knowledge.

How to Gain Wisdom and Knowledge daily….

Read the Proverb’s chapter for the day of the month that it is.

Today is March 8 so you read chapter 8

The verses that stuck out to me today are

Receive my instruction, and not silver
And knowledge rather than choice gold.

Those two lines reminds me how important it is to see wisdom and truth in life.  To take instruction and learn from it, learn from those that have gone before you and succeeded in the things you are working toward.

For wisdom is better than Rubies,
And all the things one may desire
cannot be compared with her.

Wisdom is so much better than Rubies.  There is no amount of money on this earth that equals what wisdom is to us.  Money/ Rubies are something of this earth and not a part of our eternal life.  Wisdom is better than anything that we desire.  I have crossed paths with some very wise people and I like to be quiet and just listen to them speak so that I can glean from there words.  Have you experienced this before?

Counsel is mine and sound wisdom,
I am understanding, I have strength

I love those who love me,
And those who seek me diligently will find me.

These are amazing words from our Creator God who does love each of us that is created his image.  Seek him and learn from him daily.

I am excited for tomorrow and the new truths I will learn in Proverbs 9

Come along for the 30 day inspirational journey.

6 Tips For Travelling with Kids – Road Trip

October 24, 2016 by kareenkarol Leave a Comment

road-trip-family-fun-kareenkarol-com

Do you ever do things that afterward you think, What the heck was I thinking?

How about travelling with 4 children, for the weekend, to another city to stay in a hotel room, does that sound like fun or a gong show?

Sometimes I can romantisize  it and think “what great memories that we are giving the kids”, sometimes it is out of guilt, “that they all will want to go” and sometimes it is because I just want them all to come along. Although it can seem a bit like a gong show at times , here is how I get through it and hopefully make it a great experience!

6 tips to make the weekend a success.

  • Book a hotel that has breakfast, this room we just last weekend was a smaller room, actually a room that is too small for all 6 of us. By having the breakfast room available it was the way that the whole experience was doable for us. As we woke up each of us was able to sneak out to the breakfast room so the others could still sleep.
  • Take some supplies, before I left the house I tossed in a few paper plates, a bowl and some forks. I knew that we would be eating in the hotel room some and I wanted to have a few items with us to make it easier. We did buy groceries at Costco, these few items I brought helped us to make the meals easier.
  • Bring something for the kids to do– Although my children are getting bigger the trip of 2.5 hours can seem to get long. A 2 hour trip seems easier, but that extra half hour just adds the opportunity for some fighting in the van before we get to our final destination .
  • Get a hotel room that has enough room for all of you. I usually do this and this time I didn’t… ask for a family room, sometimes the cost is minimal to do the upgrade for more space.
  • Get a hotel with a swimming pool, this helps the kids to get tired out as well a way for the family to great exercise.
  • Before you leave home – search out what the city has for fun for the kids to do. Each city will have a list on the city website of some of the activities in there city as well Google it and you will find out what other people recommend for you to do in the city that you are going to.

Family time can be fun, but it can also be crazy.  I do remind my self many times while in such close quarters that I need to remain calm and patient. EXAMPLE when they continually jump from bed to bed and sometimes jump on the person sitting on the bed.  A FUN manager… that is what I become… lol

Enjoy the times you have with your kids, one day not to far in the future, they will no longer be travelling with you. You will think back to the days that you are experiencing now and wonder where the time went.
